More bank charges possible

The UK's banks could be hit with a bill for another £8 million in bank charges, according to Which?. New figures suggest that of around 12 million that have been the subject of bank charges in the last eight years, over three in five (63%) are yet to ask for their money back. Should the Office of Fair Trading win its case against the banks at the Supreme Court this week, many bank customers could file new complaints. This is in addition to the claims that are currently on hold. "If the Supreme Court rules against them, the banks could find themselves staring down the barrel of millions of fresh claims. This is in addition to the huge backlog that's already built up since the waiver was put in place."
