Recession to change business

The CBI has said the recession will reshape business behaviour into the next decade. The business organisation said the downturn has become the catalyst for a new era. It believes fresh approaches will develop, such as businesses becoming more wary of high debt levels, companies reorganising and re-examining their approach to working with partners. Sustainability and ethics will become more integral to business models, and a more flexible workforce is to evolve. Richard Lambert, CBI director general, said: "We may be at the start of a new era for businesses, in which attitudes to finances and to corporate leadership are changed for a generation by the shock of the past two years."
